Ease Pain and Tension, Restore Flexibility

What is Thai Massage?

Thai Massage is the ultimate therapy for improving flexibility and easing muscle pain and tension.  The unique combination of rhythmic massage, yoga-like passive stretches, Sen energy line work, and acupressure gently loosen and lengthen constricted soft tissue, and leave you feeling deeply relaxed and energised.

This infinitely adaptable and ancient whole body treatment is carried out on a comfortable futon on the floor, with the client wearing loose, non-restrictive clothing (a long sleeved t-shirt and leggings or jogging trousers are ideal).

Your Therapist

Sally has been a practitioner of Northern style Thai Massage for 18 years, having received extensive training and qualification in the traditional curriculum practiced for 2500 years.  She is widely recognised for her knowledge and experience in this therapy.
What to Expect

We will start with a consultation to gather essential health and wellbeing information and discuss your goals.  Each treatment is individually tailored to your specific needs, and the stretches and massage techniques used are likely to vary in session as your range of movement and flexibility improves.

Duration & Frequency

A 90 minute appointment is recommended for a full body treatment.  60 minute appointments are also available for targeted treatment, or for when your time is tight.

Session frequency will depend upon your goals and body’s response.  For example, treatment for a specific issue may require a visit every week for a month, before adopting a monthly maintenance programme.  However many clients choose to continue with weekly treatment and reap the benefits of continuous improvement in their flexibility and wellbeing.  The best judge will always be your body and how it feels.

Beginnings

As with any form of movement or exercise new to the body, it is possible that you will experience some muscle tenderness after receiving Thai Massage.  This should soon ease, leaving you to appreciate the new feeling of openness and improving posture.

Progressive

Each treatment builds on the one before, enabling your therapist to gently coax your body into accepting changed patterns of movement and restoring lost function through the use of a wide range of stretches and massage techniques.
